I have not seen any in years.... Ahh the old days, hard cold leather that held bacteria like no other material... saddle sores, fond memories.

I am all for nostalgia, but for the sake of your backside get yourself a pair of assos shorts

You forgot "crunchy."

I agree with all three replies !  newer synthetic chamois are great : I have a pair of Sugoi shorts I love; along with a pair from Biemme. there are lots to choose from. maybe check out www.roadbikereview.com

or www.theprosstuff.com (real team kits from real pro teams)

hope this helps

You forgot tom mention the cream that you needed to apply to the leather regularly, to prevent it from becoming brittle. Boy, do I miss that time....

The www.theprosstuff.com website sounded familiar until I remembered that the owner just got suspended by USCF and USADA for buying EPO.  Just fyi.

I saw this site when I googled so am glad to see you reference it, too. Thank you, J.

For the others, maybe I should have explained but I didn't want to get into details. As a woman, synthetic chamois don't work for me.

Kucharik is great. They have been making custom cycling clothing for over 40 years and are probably the domestic foremost experts in traditional chamois.

Assos, Assos, Assos. Not the cheapest but worth every penny! You get what you pay for.
Awesome! Thanks!
