Bike Shop Pay

I am posting this under an alias for obvious reasons.
I have been semi-offered a job at a Chicagoland bike shop but need to send in a salary requirement. I know what I need, but I am coming from a position which is commission based and want to put in an amount which is competitive but not laughable. If any one works in a shop and is willing to tell me your duties/position and your pay rate, that would be highly valuable in my efforts, telling me what shop you work at is not necessary, but helpful for comparison sake. I understand this is a private and touchy subject and I have no problem receiving private messages or emails for responses. I'm just trying to gauge what bike shops are paying sales/managers/assistant managers/mechanics in the Chicagoland area.
