Bike on Car Crash

I turned onto Milwaukee the other day and in my rear view mirror there was a biker, riding with no hands.  I came to a stoplight and hugged the left side of the road, which I'm in the habit of doing.  All of a sudden he comes up on the side and crashes into the corner of the car in front of me, also stopped.  He was okay and proceeded to (try to) ride on, but the driver was not having it.  She maneuvered her car to the right, put it in park, got out and went postal on him.  He claims he hit a bump, but I wonder if he was still riding with no hands at that point. I was blocked in, so I got to see it all happen and will admit, I was chuckling at the irony.

 

Has anyone else seen this happen?

I thought being numb to situations was part of being a hipster, or was that emos. I don't know they all look alike in their "non-confomity"

That's because they are meant for looks, being narrow to squeeze through traffic. I get a little tingle from time to time but would never put my hands in my pockets while riding. Maybe Jan./Feb. on a sunny day with clear pavement but other wise...

I almost got hit by a no handed rider today. He was inching towards me and then it became obvious that it was either him or I that needed to move quickly. He waited till the last minute.   You know how you get that streak of fear that hits you? that's how I felt.

When I was in Santa Barbara this winter, I saw kids riding while texting AND carrying beer (or surf boards). Cyclists by UCSB have total control of the roads through sheer volume and as a visiting driver, it was terrifying. I hate when cyclists don't seem to have a discernible plan.
