Seattle is wondering why it's costing so much to expand its bike lanes. It may only be able to provide half of the fifty miles promised because of the costs.

Seattle may have to reduce the miles of future bike lanes because of high costs.
Why are they so expensive?
There are many costs involved in any bike lane project then just paving a few new lanes.
I'm certain similar costs in Chicago and other major cities also affect the expansion of bike lanes, but in the long-term, they are necessary for safety and ultimately worthwhile !

That's not just a bike lane. It's more like a street reconstruct.
