i like it. people would be getting bigger rims for their segway... first person injured from falling off one because they were an extra foot in the air!

segways? ::shudder::

3rd post-- time to take it in a completely unexpected direction :-)

My feeling about the Segway is that they could have been =big=, had the mfg had the vision to price them more aggressively, e.g. 20k base price all the way up to the extra bling edition (60-80k).
They would have been overnight hits as status symobls.
Bet I could find a way to get an 18" sub mounted on one.
Segways - check

Hey, where are the pictures of those blasted 4-person bikecars that take up the entire lane of the path?

I demand satisfaction.
Segways are much cheaper $5,699.00
In other news, you can log in to every ning site using the same name and password you use for the chainlink.

7th post. Time to take it in a completely different direction. Why is it Bike & Roll Chicago's "membership" rules for annual parking at Millennium Park are completely opaque?

As a matter of fact, the website does not answer any questions. It simply states a price for monthly and annual parking. How does a monthly become an annual parker? How many annual memberships are available? Is there a wait list?
The annual membership is for an entire year. The monthly membership is by month. So if you only wanted to be a member during the summer you would probably want to pay by month. I will have to get back to you about the number of memberships are available, I don't have that information with me at this point.

Oh this is fun....Why do you make it such a pain in the neck to cancel a yearly membership?
I am not sure, I am not in charge of the memberships. Contact the Cycle Center and speak to someone there for that kind of information.

Excellent! I'll take jamimaria's annual membership. I have requested an annual membership since December of last year. Having paid 7 consecutive months of monthly parking, I have now paid more than the cost of an annual membership. No two answers from the employees at Bike and Roll have been the same.
Are we done "networking" now?
See, exactly! And the person in charge of membership is conveniently seldom there. Of course, then I'd have to go to the facility in person to actually cancel....but of course they are only there while I'm at work, and since they are rarely there at that it could just be a waste of time.

It would be nice if you sent out a membership renewal form from time to time instead of just automatically charging. At least I now have a new card and it won't work next year.

And you wonder why the waiting list is so long?
