Bicycle theft suspect caught after eBay tip
Tribune staff report
November 6, 2008

A Wilmette man who saw his stolen bike for sale on eBay helped police arrest a suspect in the case, police said Wednesday.

Jeremy Miller, 27, of the 3700 block of West Shakespeare Avenue in Chicago, was charged last week with felony theft after detectives found 17 stolen bikes in his home.

Police said Miller stole six bikes from a Wilmette Metra stop in October, and one of the victims notified police after he found his bike for sale on eBay.

Police won the online bidding for the bike, and Miller was arrested last week at Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie where he had gone to deliver the bike to undercover detectives.
