Unusual application of a ghost bike-- to try to guilt/shame/haunt a hit and run driver into turning themself in.

I'm sure the POS who hit this guy and slunk away without even stopping to see if aid could be rendered, or if the victim was even still alive, probably has already worked out a narrative in their own mind that makes their actions somehow OK and themselves less culpable. Perhaps the H&R driver has fabricated a series of events where they become the victim and the bicyclist, instead, the bad guy.
That's how human minds work. Humans are good at rationalizing their own behavior -even the most abhorrent. I doubt the ghost bike will have any effect but we can only hope.
Hopefully they will use the reward money for the guys family or a charitable biking cause.
The paln reminds me of Poe's "The Tell Tale Heart" only here the killer is to be driven mad by the Ghost Bike; the heart if you will. I hope that it works, who knows. At the very least this Ghost Bike should cause people to think and be a little more carefull.
