Are there any MTB trails near Deerfield?

HI,

I got a job in Deerfield, IL.

Yeah, I know.

Anyway, are there any places to mountain bike up there? Other than Kettle Moraine, I mean.

Not terribly close but Andres Bike Park is closer to you. Small spot that is great to build some skills. Ther Rock Bike park and Beulah might also be worth checking out.

There should also be some good spots along the Desplaines River. Check out CAMBr.org for more info.

Best MTB trails in the Chicago area are at the Palos Forest Preserves, just outside of Willow Springs. It's a bit far from Deerfield, but it is also right off of I-294, which also cuts through Deerfield. From the Loop, you can get to the trails in about 30 mins on a weekend morning.

Once upon a time when I was a wee lassie with some little bike I used to go out to Deer Park/Deer Grove Forest Preserve and there were definitely a little bit of hidden trails. I can do the route in my head, but it's Palatine/Deer Park/Lake County border area.

I have since heard that they were trying to kill them, so YMMV.
