Julie, I can't be positive, as I didn't see the WGN news, but I'm guessing it had to do with this thread, and the synergy between The Chainlink & the Chicago Stolen Bike Registry:

Both the Trib & RedEye ran stories about the Chicago Stolen Bike Registry, and Kevin's year end wrap up of the stolen bike numbers.  WGN often lifts stories from the Trib.
