RAIL North is a one day 175 mile ride across Illinois, from the Moline to Chicago. It is held on the Saturday before summer solstice.
I did the inaugural ride 2 years ago and plan to do it again this year. It was well organized with plenty food stops, mechanical and sag support. And if you are like me, and don't own a car, this is probably the longest organized point-to-point ride you can do without needing access to a car. (On Friday, you take greyhound to Moline, on Saturday, you ride back to Chicago)
Any one else doing it this year?

Ha, I did Chicago-to-Moline by myself in 2013 over the course of FOUR days. My personal record is 75 miles in a day...always dream of doing a century. But adding another 75 to THAT...yow. :)

Ah. One day. Two would be a challenge for me....
