Anyone have wood fenders?

Now that I got a Jamis Aurora (and now that my kidney stone problems are gone and I can actually ride again) I'm thinking of pimping it out with some wood fenders now that the weather is about to turn worse.

At first I was thinking of some hammered ones like Velo Orange or Honjo
but then I saw some sweet wood fenders like these

Has anyone tried them?
Do they get scratched up?
Do they require special care?
Will I come out to ride home to find them gone?

This is my daily commuter. I have a bike room at both work and home but don't usually use the work one.

I'm thinking with some wood fenders and a honey B17 it will look pretty good!

edit: after reading up it looks like if i get wood i should get the rounded ones, since people complain the flat ones don't work that well.

I haven't used them myself, but a few people I've spoken with that have swear by them. Apparently one of the nice features of wooden fenders is that they don't tend to loosen and rattle like plastic or aluminum ones often do.

I picked up a set from woodysfenders.com a couple years ago and couldn't be more happy with them. As far as maintenance, etc. I've done absolutely nothing and they still look/function great. Before getting a set I had the exact same questions as you (namely will someone steal them), and so far, so good!

When I bought the set on my commuter bike, they didn't have the rounded fenders available yet. From a performance standpoint there haven't been any issues with the flat fenders but keep in mind this is on a mountain bike frame set though.

For a xmas present to myself this year, I'm thinking about buying a set of the woody rounded fenders and matching chain guard for my single speed. With less tire clearance, I'd like to try to get as much coverage as possible and think rounded will help on this bike.

The only issue I've had is with the mounting hardware loosening up. When I initially mounted them I didn't use locktight and definitely should have. Woody was kind enough to send me some extra mounting hardware after the original bits fell off the bike though. Even with the locktight I still occasionally have to deal with the hardware loosening up but consider that a small price to pay...
