Any suggestions for one of those child seats for my bike?

So yeah, my friend has a 4 yr old and we would like to be able to take her with us when we ride LFP in the evening. I am thinking about getting one of those seats that goes behind my seat for her. I want to put it on my mountain bike since I don't want to use my roadie for this chore. Any suggestions on good models to buy? Keeping in mind of course, these tough economic times. Any help would be appreciated, thanks youz guyz.

BTW, haven't posted in a while, good to be back.

You can rent tag-a-long's, that may be an option. If you got a trailer you could always convert it or just use it for toting stuff.
My sister bought a tag-a-long attachment for her 4 (now 5) year old son last year. He loves it because he gets to be active, but even if he craps out and stops pedaling, it doesn't matter. It attaches very easily to the seat tube of her Specialized Globe. (Picture here.) She bought it used and very cheap from the Bike 'N Roll rental place by Navy Pier. You should check with them and Craigslist if money is an issue.

A good site for various kid bike seat reviews is Totcycle. Good luck!
If a four year old fits a seat at all she's going to outgrow it really soon. I'd get a trailer—a really good one can be had for $200 or even a lot less if you're lucky on Craigslist, and while obviously you want to check it out and make sure it's set up properly, those things last forever and will be useful even when the kid is too big for it. My four year old gets a real kick out of riding around in his.
I am beginning to lean more towards a trailer for the multiple uses I can get out of it. Plus as was mentioned, she will soon outgrow a seat anyways. I will stop by and check them out today. Thanks for the info guys

As for my not being around lately, it was due to health issues of my dad, thanks for asking M.A.R.K.
Go to Target.com and search bike trailer quick-n-lite. We own 2 of them. They cost $100. I highly recommend them. My wife carries a lot of stuff along with the kids when she goes shopping.
