Hey whats up chain link? This is my first post. I just wanted to know if there are any other penny farthing riders out there. I have a 48in reproduction. It's about 25 to 30 years old built in Ohio. I have had it about two years. I live in Lakeview and while the weather is warm I try to get out at least two or three times a month and ride on the lake front or get to mass which has been rare with this bike. It's always good times but I would love some company. If anyone has one of these bikes and would like to ride around it would be good times. Check my profile for photos.

Try Cigdem Tunar and John Edel (both members here). They both have antique P-F's and ride them in group rides fairly often.

Sadly only at the Chicago Historical Society. I love-em though! Have you seen this guy?

He rode a repro P-farthing around the world. According to his journal he's paid the price physically.
Nice I wish I had the cash for an antique. The reproduction is doing me well for now. If I had an antique I think I would be more nervous about riding it hard. For example I rode it to a party last summer and had people lining up to try it in an ally. Great thing is that three people there where EMT's. That night the back wheel got destroyed. Easily replaceable on a reproduction but I would be heart broken otherwise. The guys at hiwheel.com are super nice and it is reassuring that I can get new parts for my bike.

I have seen a bit online about this guy but had not seen his blog. It's pretty amazing stuff. I imagine that guys knees are in pretty rough shape.
