Saw this one on the Wisconsin Bike Fed blog:

http://wisconsinbikefed.org/2016/06/22/driver-hits-kills-co-worker-...

Unlike other incidents I've seen reported, this one appears to involve people who likely knew each other. The two were coworkers, both working for WS Packaging Solutions in Algoma, WI.

The man killed in Longview, TX was Paul Price.

The man killed in Roseville, CA was Richard Elmer Lawson.

Skip, do you have a breakdown of numbers by state?

At this point, no. I haven't been keeping an eye on things long enough for such a breakdown to be all that meaningful (I don't think). For now, you'll just have to page through the thread and count.

I do think there would be value in getting these data into a database where they might turn into information, but haven't done anything yet. Maybe I'll start with a Google spreadsheet. It's not a database, but would at least organize the data in tabular fashion and could be slurped into a real database later.

MIght be good to not only do it by state but also by time and months to see if it makes a difference with the number of fatalities between day and night and summer and non-summer period.

A later report identified the victim in the Ypslianti Township crash as Anthony McGeorge, age 18

No contest plea in Ypsilanti crash.

Thanks. I'm a bit behind. Do you have a link to a news report about this crash? Where did the crash occur (Chicago or elsewhere)?

(Catching up - been out of town for a couple days...)

I used to live around the Lansing area and know exactly where Mr. Snider Jr was hit and killed.  My heart hurts every time I read a bicycle related fatality.  Thoughts and prayers with all the victims and their families.
