Another bike shop bites the dust

  today I pass by the Boris Western bike shop in Franklin Park, at 9777 w Grand, and it was empty, store was for rent. I beleive he is an old timer from the fifties, taking over from his father. Maybe he just retire. Was pleasant to go there, had a lot of odds and ends, not exactly a high end shop, but decent.

Not sure if it counts but half of Rapid Transit (wicker park) got clipped recently.

Always sad to hear about a bike shop going down.  But -- I think more are going up.
