Al-Assad announces bike sharing program in Syria

Those bikes look bomb-proof...but they're probably not. Syrian car sharing looks a bit more robust:

Since the issue of Syria came up, if I can take the opportunity to ask that you check out the website for FreeFoley.com. My close friend, Jim Foley, was working as a wartime reporter in Syria back in November when he was kidnapped. If you are willing, please take the time to sign the petition asking for the US State Department to continue its efforts to locate Jim. Jim was very recently living in Pilsen before going abroad to report on conflicts in Libya and then Syria.

Journalist James Foley disappeared in northwest Syria on Thanksgiving Day, November 22 2012.

Jim is the oldest of five children. He has reported independently and objectively from the Middle East for the past five years. Prior to his work as a journalist, Jim helped empower disadvantaged individuals as a teacher and mentor assisting them in improving their lives.

The family appeals for the release of Jim unharmed.
