The Chainlink

I've had a pretty consistent cough for a long time now, and I've been wondering if my city biking could have anything to do with it. I do often find myself on the busiest roads with my face not far from cars exhaust.  Been reading and looks like urban cyclists in larger European cities have started wearing pollution masks.  I think I'd rather ride on less trafficked streets than wear a silly mask...
Anyone have thoughts on this!?

No.

Wow, that article is ridiculous.

Dear EarthTalk: I ride my bike to work along busy urban streets. Should I be worried about inhaling pollutants from vehicle emissions and other sources?

The short answer is, yes, if you don't like it stop inhaling (read: breathing).
It's all about the proper personal protective equipment.
