Hi everyone,

My 7 year old nephew is coming to visit this summer and he is not comfortable riding a bike. I'm looking into used (or inexpensive) Afterburners or Tag Alongs. We hope we could hitch it to our existing bikes: a Cannondale Synapse or Giant Cyclocross. We'd mainly be riding for recreation, locally in the city, or commuting to parks/museums. There's a small chance we'd take Metra or drive to suburban trails. PS. I don't know how much he weighs, but my nephew is pretty small/light for his age.

Does anyone have experience using cycle trailers with kids?

What recommendations do you have for brands/models and what to look for?

Are our "adult" bikes even appropriate for a cycle trainer?
