The Chainlink

I've got a Trek hybrid, and I want to replace the original grips with ergonomic ones with some sort of bar-ends attached.

REI has the Ergon Performance Grip GC2 (http://www.rei.com/product/752277/ergon-performance-grip-gc2-l), which seem to be well-designed, but with relatively short bar-ends.

Today, I saw that Kozy has the Specialized BG Contour Targa (http://www.specialized.com/ee/en/bc/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=64418&...). The ends are taller, but the grips didn't feel as "full" when I put my palm on them.

Anyone tried either of these?

Which would be ergonomically better for long rides?

(I saw that Village Cycle Center has some Bontrager grips, but I don't think they had the ends attached.)

I have been using the Ergon GC3 large size grips on My Trek Y5 for about a year. They have a larger curved bar end than the GC2. I love these grips. I don't like to wear gloves, and these grips are fantastic. I was getting some tingling in my hands on longer rides before I bought these, but not anymore. It took me about 3 rides to get the angle adjustment correct for me. In fact, I am going to get another pair for my Trek Y22. Ihave seen them online for around $50.00 and at LBS for about $65.00 but they are well worth the money.

There was a set of the Ergon's at the REI Garage sale in Schaumburg for like $10 or so.  not the original packaging but it looked like everything was there.   Too bad -I could have picked them up for you.

Thanks, guys.

Thanks for your input, Peter. It's ironic— just today, I was shopping around, and I stumbled upon the GC3's (well, through a Web site). I was already thinking of going with those. Glad to hear you like them.
