3D Printed Bike Frame

The Bhulk bike frame is the first ecological and environmentally sustainable bike. It was printed using biodegradable, recycled and recyclable PLA 3D printing material.
As a 3D printing material derived from renewable, plant-based materials, the Bhulk frame can either be melted down and turned into new 3D printed objects, or simply ground up and composted.
The designers say this frame is sturdy and functional.

I wouldn't be surprised if, one day, a large percentage of bike frames are printed. The technology is still expensive, but it's coming down rapidly. Between the different materials that could be used and the lighter honeycomb-type designs, a lot of creative innovations would be possible. I didn't know until I read this article and googled around that solid metal can now be printed. Amazing!
