I came across this 60-mile route that starts at Harper College, in Palatine. Has anyone who's nearby done this route before? It's not too far from Schaumburg, so coupled with a trip to Ikea, it could make for a pretty great day. :)


The New Route

* The ride begins in the West Parking Lot at Harper College, located near the Roselle Road entrance and the tennis courts.

- South on Roselle Road to Central Road
- West on Central Road, along I-90, to Freeman Road
- North on Freeman Road to Mundhank Road
- West on Mundhank Road, across Barrington Road, to Revere Drive
- Northwest on Revere Drive to Penny Road
- West on Penny Road, across New Sutton Road, to Bateman Road
- North on Bateman Road, across 68 and 62, to County Line Road
- East on County Line Road to Meadow Hill Road
- North on Meadow Hill Road to Spring Creek Road
- West on Spring Creek Road to Haegers Bend Road
- North on Haegers Bend Road to Algonquin River Road
- East on Algonquin River Road to fork in the road at Plumtree Road
- (Stay right at the fork)
- East on Plumtree Road to Ridge Road
- South on Ridge Road to Oak Knoll Road ***NEW***
- East on Oak Knoll Road to North Buckley Road ***NEW***
- North on North Buckley Road to Cuba Road ***NEW***
- East on Cuba Road, across Northwest Hwy and 59, to Ela Road
- South on Ela Road to Algonquin Road
- (Ela jogs at Northwest Highway & Dundee Road)
- East on the Algonquin Road bike path back to Harper College

Total Distance - Approximately 60 kilometers

Hello,

Yes I have done this and it is a nice route. Not tons of traffic. Kind of hilly also. A lot of ironmen and tri people train on Spring Creek road.
