We have a few threads here and there with introductions, but nothing organized. For this thread, post your picture, pics of your bikes, and a small blurb about yourself (favorite foods, commuting routes, etc).

Awesome David and Brendt!  So much beer.....so little time!!!

Mmmmm Beer, welcome David & Brendt!

Hi, I'm Melanie and this is my husband, Robert:

We ride all kinds of different bicycles, sometimes at the same time and even on our wedding night:

This is Rob's Cruiser named Clementine:This is my daily commuter, Swifty Blue Butterfly (Swifty for short):

We like to dance, ride bikes everywhere, build and fix up bikes, and generally have fun.  We have more bikes, but I don't have pics of them right now- we trade off on riding them depending on what we are doing and where we are going.

That was a great wedding night! ;-)

Oh, the same band is playing next Saturday, March 24th at Rabbits Bar again! All are invited :)

Hiya! My name is Jennifer... This is me (Sorry self-photo in the bathroom... I promise I am not 16!)

This is me and my mini me, Nate:

This is Echo, the daily commuter:

This is Stream, she's new to the family:

I moved to Chicago from the St Louis area for a better job. I am an Electrical Designer. Since it is just the kid & I in the city, I have no social life - so reading and bicycles are about it for me.

I used to drive over 100 miles a day to go to work, and always showed up crabby because of traffic... Now I bike about 12 miles a day, and always show up sweaty... even if it is on 18F out!

Hi Jenn, there are a few folks with the same situation regarding kids. As long as you don't mind others drinking or perhaps cursing around the lil guy there are events where he would be welcome. :-) Also to avoid both cursing and drinking check out Kidical Mass. ;-)

Cursing.. Ha! There is one of my (many) parenting flaws!

I have been trying to do as much as possible, esp. where I don't think I will get the stink-eye for bringing a kid along. He is all about riding and bikes, too - so I take advantage of our shared passion.

You will never go wrong treating Nate like an adult and exposing him to everything you can, Jenn. You will have a pleasant companion who will learn how to behave in public and turn into a worldly and experienced adult with a full sack o' stories to tell. Replace stink with envious.
