My apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but I don't think I'm marketing.
Anyway, my wife and I had signed up for the Swiss Cheese and Spotted Cows bicycle tour earlier this year, but work circumstances have made it necessary for us to cancel. The organizers were good enough to give us a refund (there was some confusing language on their site regarding the timing of cancellations, and they interpreted it in the manner most advantageous to us), so I thought I'd do what I could to help them fill those two spots.
We did this ride 4 years ago, and had a really good time. It's a 60-ish mile per day ride through southern Wisconsin with a dip down into Galena for a day. Each night features a local microbrewery open for tours, and there are opportunities to stop along the way at dairies and other such places. For a small ride, I was surprised at how well-organized everything seemed. The routes were well-marked, there was good SAG support, and a local bike shop on hand every morning to handle any maintenance/repair issues before the day's ride.
Accommodations are nothing special, but perfectly clean and functional, and they had all set aside a room inside the hotel for bicycle storage.
We were complete newbies to multi-day rides when we first did it, and we had a good time. There are hills (but most of you probably knew that), but if I survived then you will too.
If anyone is interested, there is contact info on the ride's web page. The organizer sometimes takes a couple of days to respond via e-mail, but she does respond.
For the record, I am not being compensated in any way for this. It's a good group of people running the trip, and they were very nice about letting us back out. I just thought I'd give them a hand in trying to fill our two places.
