Description

Enjoy a beautiful fall day riding around Chicago visiting some of the city's Buddhist hotspots. We will begin with a meditation sitting at the Zen Buddhist Temple at 8:30 a.m., head to Dinkel’s Bakery for carbs and coffee at 9 a.m., then hit the road for a day of exploration. The ride is roughly 46 miles, but the route is set so that those who prefer can jump on the El at the 10 & 25 mile marks or can finish at the 30 mile mark, when we will pass through Lakeview not far from the temple.

The ride will be at a 10-12 mph pace so that everybody can keep up. There will be plenty of rest stops along the way including Buddhist temples, Chinatown, Japenese Gardens, a Korean Buddhist vegan restaurant for a late lunch and some zen surprises along the way. Bike decorating is encouraged.

Thanks for everyone's interest! if we do it again, I'll let you all know. As far as hopping in late, we'll be at the Osaka Gardens around noon, Midwest Buddhist Temple (North & Wells-ish) around 1:30 and Chua Truc Lam (Ashland/Wilson) around 2. Shoot me a message if you want to join late.

Same with me. If this were another weekend, maybe on a Sunday (but most Saturdays are fine) I'd be all over this. As it is, I may make it.

Any other day and I would jump on this chance. But I may not be able to make it do to a previous commitment.
