Description

From 11/16/11 - 12/14/11, the female instructors at West Town Bikes will be offering a sliding scale workshop to prepare you, your closet and your bike for winter. For a $10 suggested donation, learn tips and insider secrets for four major winter biking categories:

How to keep your bike running during and after the salt and grime of Chicago Winters. (Donation includes lube, grease and access to tools!)

Clothing - How to prepare yourself for the elements on a budget. Examples of appropriate outfits and accessories for every temperature.

Style - How to bike in a snowstorm to a nice dinner and still look stylish.

On the Street Sense - Actually biking in winter is a different ballgame. We'll prepare you on what to expect, what factors might be dangerous and how to handle your bike.

Sessions take place at 1147 N. Campbell at 8pm on Wednesdays from November 16th - December 14th. All participants are entered into a raffle for gift certificates from Irazu, Best Buy, iTunes and more.

Please forward to low income agencies and organizations that serve female/trans individuals. We would love to break beyond the bike community and help those who bike because it is the only option. We want everyone to be safe and warm on their two wheels!

This is the pep talk and prep session you need to take the leap into the snowy wonderland! Come support West Town Bikes' Youth Programs and leave prepared!
