Whether your are riding to stay fit, lose weight, or prepare for the racing season, this class will help new riders devise a simple and easy to follow winter training program. You will learn how to measure baseline fitness, measure and track basic metrics, and keep a training log. The only tools you will need are a notepad, a bicycle, a scale, and occasional access to a heart rate monitor. For the vast majority of novices, simplicity and consistency are all that is required to achieve modest fitness goals in the off season. You do not need sophisticated measuring or analytical tools, although they can be useful in later stages of training. We will also review some standard indoor workouts which can be tailored to your ability and fitness level.
