Join us and other Roll the Cold Bike Challengees for Winter Bike to Work Day on Friday, January 23rd at Daley Plaza for the annual celebration of cyclists who don't let the cold temperatures or snow stop them from biking. From 6:30-9am, warm up and mingle with other winter cyclists with free Dark Matter coffee and Eli's cheesecake.
Also be sure to get a jump on your spring plan by registering for 2015's Bike the Drive (Sunday, May 24). Registration opens at 6:30am on January 23rd.

DAMN I completely forgot about this. I was going to take Clark, too, but I decided to take State into the loop this morning
I will be leading a group from Evanston Bike Club. Feel free to join us as we pedal downtown. I put the following on the EBC listserv--
Come test the penumbra where toughness just might become hubris. The Winter Bike to Work Rally was created to the anniversary of the coldest day (1-20-1985 -27 degrees) in Chicago history. Fortunately, the expected temperature at the time we will ride at 630 am is about 50 degrees warmer than the record. Still, it's gonna be winter and you are not going to be riding in shorts or employing fingerless gloves. If you are a hard core winter rider you can scoff at the riders you have not seen in a few months and feel superior. If you are still intimidated by rides where the temperature is below Phoenix you can get out your gear and applaud yourself for giving it a try. Either way, we will ride downtown, have fun and hang out with a bunch of other like (or is that feeble) minded souls. I will be at the Dunkin' Donuts at Howard and Western and leave at 630 am sharp (that is 620 EBC time) and will proceed at a casual pace. We will get to the Daley Plaza around 730. There will not be the same amount of swag as there is at the June rally but there will be hot coffee, sexy balaclavas and perhaps a few local news cameras. Come join us. You have to get to work anyway, you might as well have a little fun getting there.
