Curious to find out what training rides are all about - but aren't sure if you can ride at 25 mph? Here's your chance. This ride has the look and feel of a training ride, but at a slower pace. Be prepared to maintain speeds between 14 and 19 mph. Emphasis will be placed on smooth riding techniques, riding etiquette, and safety.
This is a standing weekly ride starting in front of Cheetah Gym on Clark Street in Andersonville, going north on the bike trail through the forest preserves to Winnetka and back to Andersonville on Sheridan Road.
Note: Due to the need to ride in a tight pack, the moderately fast pace and training specific nature of this ride, use of traditional style road bikes is strongly recommended. A certain level of experience and fitness is expected. The actual pace of the ride will be determined by the ride participants, traffic and weather conditions, and the group as a whole.
Why ride alone? Come make some new friends who enjoy cycling.
Windy City Cycling Club is primarily a gay and lesbian club, however, anyone who enjoys road cycling is welcome.
