Description

Plants, Trails, Drinks

Be a part of the North Branch Trail's southern extension and create some real roots and connections. We'll join local Site Stewards, Habitat 2030 and The Out Our Front Door Organization to plant native shrubs. After we'll jump over to Hopleaf for some brews.

LaBaugh-Hernandez Woods is an important site for migratory birds, and the restoration of native shrubs provides food and shelter. We'll help plant these shrubs! Be prepared to get dirty, as some of us will dig, others will mulch and water. Almost all of us will have our hands and knees in the mud. It's a dirty business! Most of the hardware and gloves will be provided.

What's this About?

The Where The Wild Things Grow program encourages bicycle community involvement in ecological restoration throughout the regional trail network system of Chicagoland. A partnership between the Out Our Front Door Organization and Habitat2030 to assist organizations and native land stewards. An initiative to give back and foster deep rooted connections to the local trails and environment in the Lower Lake Michigan Basin Area in order to carry on the Natural Heritage Legacy that we all call home..
