Description

We are thrilled to announce that year's Urban Assault Ride, sponsored by New Belgium Brewing, will benefit Break the Gridlock, The Chainlink and West Town Bikes.  Our task is to recruit volunteers to help during this fun event. Jobs range from beer security at Murphy's Bleachers to helping (and cheering) at checkpoints. Sign up here: http://urbanassaultride.com/chicago/volunteer/npo

Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, food, drinks, and beer (21 and older). As an added incentive, our friends at the Active Transportation Alliance are offering Urban Assault volunteers a discount for Bike the Drive, which is the following weekend.  Enter GRIDLOCK5 for online registration at www.bikethedrive.org

Please consider volunteering for this event. Your time helps support local causes that promote biking and reduce car dependency.

The site says all volunteer slots are taken, but a few people have had to back out, including a checkpoint manager. If you have not yet officially signed up to volunteer and are available, please contact gin@breakthegridlock.org.  We especially need someone who can come to a meeting  this Thursday night (one hour at Murphy's Bleachers). Thanks for your support and apologies for the double bumping.

I'll be at Climate Cycle.  Bummer that it's the same day!
