The 2016 Chicago Marathon Viewing Party by Bike, with support and cheerful encouragement for friends and participants running in this event.
Route viewing points can be accessed by traveling adjacent streets by bike if you wish, or if we all decide to move further down the route. No bikes permitted on the marathon route. Bikes only permitted "walked" on the route sidewalks.
The Old Town area is an excellent area to view the Chicago Marathon because of the festive party atmosphere with music, beats, and exuberant spectators in a beautiful Chicago architectural area. Old Town is at the 10 mile mark, so the fast runners come through after 7:45am and the other 45,000 runners after that.
Try to arrive before 8am to be on the east side of Sedgwick because the throng of runners cut off the side street crossing. If you arrive late, stay on the west side of Sedgwick until an opening occurs, then join us in the area near the drummers. Details subject to change. Check for updates.
Early Sunday morning get on your bike and check out all the fun and festivities ! See you there, and see you down the road !
