Start the new year on the right pedal with this unofficial Chicago Cycling Club New Year's Day ride. Neither snow nor sleet nor ice nor hangovers will prevent an intrepid group of cyclists from riding on the first day of 2017. Embark on a 16-mile cycling odyssey that includes the obligatory brunch/lunch stop at a restaurant (Forbidden Root) in a great Chicago neighborhood (West Town).
This ride will start at the Clock Tower. We will return to this area for those who want to end there. There is ample free parking for those who drive. The Red Line and 22 Clark Addison stops are just 7 blocks away. So easy to get to!
Snuggle up in your winter riding gear and come on out. Please bring a lock, money for lunch, and a helmet.
If you want to just meet us for lunch, we will arrive at Forbidden Root, 1746 W. Chicago Ave., between 11:00 and 11:30. The Sunday brunch offers fresh, seasonal dishes to highlight the craft beers and elevate your overall experience.
The ride to Forbidden Root is about 9 miles from the Clock Tower.
