Work with TreeKeepers to trim trees and brush to keep the edge of the trail clear of branches. We will also be moving and stacking the trimmed pieces for later pickup.
Meet at the Major Taylor mural. Sandals are NOT recommended. Please wear shoes or light hiking boots that fully enclose your foot and offer some support.
If you have canvas or leather work gloves, loppers and/or small saw suitable for cutting small trees and branches, please bring them. If not, don't let that stop you. There will be some gloves and tools available.
Location is approx. 1/2 mi east of I-57 and 1 mi east of 111th St. Metra station (Rock Island). If you need directions from CTA red line, contact me.
We can do a ride on the trail afterwards if anyone is interested.
