Description

This series explores some of Chicagoland’s finest faux-Polynesian eateries and drinking establishments.

Meet at the Handlebar, 2311 W. North, at 4:30 pm, departing at 5 pm.

Ride 28 miles southwest via a scenic route that includes the Salt Creek Trail to Malahini Terrace, 321 W. 75th in Willowbrook, a Chinese restaurant featuring tropical décor, fog Cutters, Mai Tais and Scorpions, http://www.malahiniterrace.com/index.html.

After dinner we’ll continue six miles north for a nightcap at Emmett’s Ale House, 5200 Main Street in Downer’s Grove, http://www.emmettstavern.com.

At 11:45 pm we’ll catch Metra home from the nearby Downers Grove station.
