7th Annual Three Floyds Brewpub Ride
9:00 AM Saturday, January 14th, 2012
Daley Plaza or Promontory Point (Lakefront in Hyde Park)
We shall depart Daley Plaza no later than 9:30 AM, meeting up with the Promontory Point group at 10:15 AM, and continue to the Three Floyds Brewpub in Munster, Indiana, arriving around 12 PM. We will depart the brewpub around 4 PM. The total distance round trip is approximately 65 miles.
Please RSVP if attending.
The inaugural Three Floyd’s ride was conceived and organized by Mark Sinclair and took place on January 14, 2006. As many of you know, Mark died on April 14, 2006, at age 34, a few days after suffering a brain aneurysm. It was Mark’s hope that this would become an annual event.
Thanks,
Kevin
Here’s a link to the Burnham Century route and the traditional Winter Route.
Depending on the weather, there is also the sometimes very attractive option of returning via Metra from the Flossmoor Station [1035 Sterling Avenue Flossmoor, IL 60422-1252 , approximately 10 miles west of Three Floyds.
The fine print:
There will be no support vehicle on this ride and each rider is responsible for themselves. The pace will be 12-14 mph with a short break at Wolf Lake.
Mid January weather may be extreme, but this ride will proceed regardless of wet, windy and/or freezing weather. Please be prepared for the cold as well as flats/mechanical problems.
Checklist:
Growler
Snacks
Lights
Lock
Pump, tube, tools
Extra layers of clothing (more than you expect to use)
Money

i'm going to be out of town, but here are the Daniel Burnham Centennial Century route and the traditional winter route. have a great ride!
In the meantime, here's a route that appears on Map My Ride.
Yup, I know. I have a message out to T.C. and Bob Hsiung to try to get a current map. Should have one up early next week.
The map link is broken. I have some people who might want to meet up coming from the South suburbs. If there is another link to the map, it would help us coordinate?
Thanks.
