No, this isn't about making a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understand Him.
It's about riding to Three Floyds and boosting our cognitive function every month this year! There's a somewhat consistent schedule -- usually the 4th Saturday of the month -- and you can qualify for the F-12 Award.
The ride takes the lakefront trail south from the Clock Tower. You can join up anywhere along the trail. Just let the group know where so they can look for you.
45 miles total if you ride to Flossmoor Station and take the Metra, 50 if you ride to 93rd and take the Metra or to 100th and take the J14, 55 if you ride to 71st and take the J14, 70 if you ride all the way. 15-18 mph. I like to get there before they open at 11:00 (it's still the eighth-best brewery in the world, so sometimes there's a line). Bring money, government-issued ID, a lock, water and snacks to have en route, and panniers for beer you can't get in Chicago.
Online resources: Google map, cue sheet, Metra Electric train schedules, Jeffrey Jump (J14) bus schedule, Bikes on the Metra, Bikes on the Bus, and, to save a minute at the start, the nifty online CCC waiver.

making the switch
new since last time:
New England IPA. Visually this beer is cloudy yellow. The aroma is primarily citrus fruits with more subtle notes of fresh cut grass and pine to balance it. It has a light body, smooth mouthfeel, and lasting bitter finish.
This West Coast Imperial IPA is packed with lupilin from Mosaic, Ekuanot, and Simcoe hops. A firm bitterness and just the right amount of malty body are married with tantalizing layers of pine, papaya, earth, and tropical fruits that will tickle your nose and palate.
Like a rush hour train, we’ve packed more Cascade hops into this beer than should be allowed by law.
A traditional Belgian Strong Dark Ale with the perfect combination of malty, sweet, and smooth.
and @ 18th street:
White stout with vanilla and cocoa nibs added
sorry to be a wimp, but for tomorrow they say:
Partly cloudy skies in the morning will give way to cloudy skies during the afternoon. High 73F. 20 % Precip.
whereas for sat.:
Rain. Thunder possible. High 54F.Chance of rain 90%.
so i'm considering moving this to tomorrow. anybody else have the flexibility to ride during the week?
