Description

In August of 2010, Peter Sagal, an avid cyclist and host of the popular WNPR show, Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me was hit by a car while riding his bike. Some members of the Chainlink expressed an interest in going to the show as a show of support upon his recuperation and return to the show. Interest exceeded my expectations, and we managed to get 40 chainlink members to show up for the September 30, 2010 taping. We did it again last year, and another 40 chainlinkers showed up on November 10, 2011.

There is a small discount (10%) for buying a block of 40 tickets. Tickets are approximately $22.275 apiece. Julie (graciously) and I (grudgingly) have agreed to purchase the tickets on or before October 19th.

If you know and like the show, you'll love watching the taping. If you don't know anything about the show, you might be surprised to see how entertaining it is to watch the taping of a radio show.

All of the 40 tickets are spoken for.
The tickets are virtual. The taping itself starts at 7:30. Don Hall, the event coordinator/stage manager has asked that we get there around 6:45PM. He'll have 40 programs to give to me, which I will then distribute to each of you whose name appears on the frequently updated spreadsheet, or your designee (who will be required to produce three forms of photo identification and a major credit card). No kidding, if you sell or transfer your ticket to someone else, you have to email me or message me with the new person's name. There will be a section of 40 seats blocked off for our group and he'll walk us down around 7:10PM. No waiting.

For anyone interested in a cooling beverage or light fare in advance of the show, I'm leaning toward strolling over to the Italian Village first floor bar (Vivere @71 W. Monroe) around 5:45 - 6:00 pm, though I can be talked into another venue as well.

I listened to the program--the taping was so much funnier!  And I love Wait, Wait.

Thanks so much, Kevin, for organizing this and allowing us to join your group.  We had a great time (but who wouldn't enjoy Wait Wait Don't Tell Me).
