Lawrence (starting at Clark) to Elston, NBT to Lake Cook, Lake Cook to Sheridan, up to Highwood, then Sheridan back to Chicago cutting over to LFP in Evanston (or whatever its called there next to the lake) and then down Sheridan/Broadway to Uptown or perhaps Andersonville for lunch/beer.
We will average about 16-18 mph for this trip. Road bike is highly recommended. We'll stop in Highwood for a fifteen minute break at the turnaround but otherwise expect to bike straight through. Expectation is that we'll be back on the Northside at around 11.30.
We can meet anybody on the way as we go out Lawrence or at the entrance to the NBT. I will upload a map later. Extra tube highly recommended (just in case).

hmm...first Deet yes the plan is to be back by 11:30 am.
as to weather, weather.com is showing 50% chance of rain and possibility of thunderstorms. Until I see an hourly breakdown I am not willing to call this off. I am optimistic that the forecast will change for the good. and that rains will only be in the afternoon. If odds are 30% or less of rain I plan on going. But I won't do anything dangerous like biking with lightening, etc.
Not sure if you've seen the forecast. 70% of thunderstorms after 8am, 20 mph wind coming from the south. Usually weather doesn't deter me, but with the one-two combo I may sit this one out.
So i am confused, be back at 11:30 am? i might be in but i have to confirm that i can get out this early.
somewhere between 44-50....I am pretty sure we've clocked it at 23 to the Highwood turnaround. I have tried using mapmyride but even as a full fledged IT professional I am unable to map the ride. And yes I'm aware that time doesn't square with my mph estimate for reasons I don't fully understand.
What's the total mileage for this?
Forgot to tell everybody what an interesting ride this wll bei. After a fascinating look at the Dept of Motor Vehicles Building on Elston :), we'll bike almost an hour through the Forest Preserve, zip through the Botanical Gardens, past beautiful homes on the North Shore, and then come down Sheridan road through the heart of the still stately Rogers Park. Some of us even remember what the old "400 Twin" theater looked like.
Sounds like fun!
Sweet!
