Enjoy a gently rolling ride on quiet country roads past wind farms and corn fields. It’s as close as it gets in Northern Illinois to having a “car-free” ride. Afterwards, visit The 65th Annual Mendota Sweet Corn Festival.
There are 4 ride loops to choose from for a total of 112 miles. There is a 10 mile, 25 mile, 37 mile and 40 mile loop. Ride one, all or any combination. Each loop brings you back to your starting point so you can enjoy the food and friendship we offer and even stop at your car to drop off clothes, resupply or refresh before heading back out on the bike.
Registration opens at 6:00 am at Lake Mendota's West Shelter near Mendota's Civic Center. There is ample parking in this area as well or at locations around Lake Mendota. Be aware that the Cornapalooza 5k/10k runs begin at 8:00 a.m. and the area will be very busy.
Century riders should start before 8:00 am. Food and drink will be available at the start and along the loops. SAG wagons will be ready to help you should a need arise. Course support ends at 2:00 but the finish area is open until 3:00.
The cost to register individually before 8/1/12 is $20.00 & $30.00 for a family. Add $5.00 after this date. With registration, you get a goodie bag with our famous corn socks, a water bottle, well marked routes with maps and cue sheets, food and drink, SAG services, and wrench support by Bike Works of Peru.
