Fall is on the way and with that every cyclist's dreams turn to thoughts of ...tweed!?! Indeed! Join the sartorially-superior for the 2nd Annual INDYCOG Tweed Ride on October 29! The Tweed Ride is a celebration of leisurely riding in the traditional style of a bygone era of British touring.
Why tweed? Tweed was a preferred material for shedding water and providing warmth on tours. Wool and cotton, knickers, neckties, and scarve...s all combined to keep a rider warm (and proper.) Tweed and classic woolen clothing is available in thrift shops, online auction houses, and in fine haberdasheries. Appropriate attire is encouraged for all riders, however, if your outfit isn't complete we won't burn your biscuits.
The tour route will take us through a variety of Indy neighborhoods. There will be contests for Dapperest Chap (best guy outfit), Lassiest Lass (best gal outfit), Best Facial Hair, and Best British Vintage Bike. There will be pub stops and, of course, tea time!
