Join us this May for a day that's one-part food drive, one-part scavenger hunt, and all parts an adventure where you combat food insecurity in Chicago.
One food item at a time, you and your friends can explore the city, feed the hungry and win cool prizes at the Ten Speed Feed by bike, foot or CTA. We're partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository to work towards their mission of providing food for the hungry, while fighting to end hunger in our community.
We'll send you out with a list of suggested donations and a map of grocery stores. You'll spend up to $25 and collect as much food from as many places on the map as you can between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
You can join in on a team or fly solo, the biggest rule is that you have to get around using active transportation options -- no cars!
Event Details
Registration for the ride will began at 11 a.m. at the Buckingham Fountain. At registration, you can pick up the donation list, a map and get tips on the fastest routes to take around town.
We'll all meet at Fulton Street Collective at 2pm to collect the food, award prizes and have a rollicking good time at the After Party.
What should you bring?
First of all, you’ll need your transportation, a way to carry your groceries and $25. If you bike, you'll also want to bring lights. We also suggest a helmet.
Questions and Getting Involved
If you can't donate food, but you still want to be involved, we'd love it if you could help us as a volunteer or with the costs of the event:https://www.gofundme.com/the-ten-speed-feed. Anything donated beyond the costs of the event will be donated directly to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
