Description

Our last trip down to shady merchandise haven Swap-o-Rama resulted in no recovered stolen bikes, but new intelligence suggests that the brazen traffickers in jacked rides have recently been dumb enough to try selling stuff listed on the Stolen Bike Registry. Another trip to 4100 S. Ashland is clearly required! Shake off that hangover and take a ride south to take another crack at administering justice. You don't need to be a cowboy, just willing to politely point out clear evidence of crime to the fuzz. Spare u-locks and smartphones helpful, not required.

OF NOTE: The main ride will leave from 1125 N. Milwaukee, but anyone wishing to just meet us down there or along the way is of course welcome; this sort of thing is easily worked out.

Dr. Doom, I can't imagine being able to search effectively on an iPhone but then again I don't have one so maybe you can do it as well as I can at home.

Alex, I don't think anyone knows what you're referring to at this point-- the serial number is on the stolen bike registry-- I'm a little concerned though that there's no police report, or if there is you haven't provided the number-- that seriously knocks the legs out from under anyone who would solicit police help to recover the bike. I've tried to communicate that to you before but I don't know what happened.

Iggi and I will be driving down there again, with a truck this time, just incase things need transportation to their rightful owners.

The plan is to take off around 7:30 and be there by 8:15 or so. You can text me at (seven 7 three three 8 three three 11 two).

Have to admit I don't get having someone at home, as at the least I'll have an iPhone and it's actually faster than my desktop at times. Our internet search was fine last time, the problem was that there were no bikes anyone had listed on CSBR or Craigslist there. If anyone wants to volunteer to do that, though, I'll take down their number.

Significant point: The swap meet is worth hitting for more than polite vigilantism, like unusual Mexican spices, bootleg video games, and, if you need them, game cocks.

Also, what time are you guys gonna be at the Swap? 7:30 or is that the time you start to ride down?
