Description

Celebrate Suzy Schnauzer's birthday with a tour of animal shelters.  People who love dogs and people who ride with dogs are especially welcome.  Start in Kathy's back yard where you will enjoy meeting "Elvis" and seeing the unusual bike rack.

Suzy came from Chicago Canine Rescue on Belmont and when we stop there, we might get to meet some adoptable canines.

Be sure to wear your helmet.  Suzy does!

Enter through the back gate at 1113 W. Webster, near Clifton on the west and near Seminary on the east.

Not only are we visiting dog parks and animal shelters, we are also riding the Skokie/Lincolnwood/Chicago river path.  We see examples of wind turbines, fancy fences, bumper sculptures, a zoo, birdhouses, a butterfly sanctuary, ghost bikes and the new "Rahm Emanuel Bike Lane."

You have the option at ending your ride at 21.5 near the start.

A lunch break will be scheduled according to the participants' preference, either at First Slice Pie Cafe at 17 miles or Chipotle at 22 miles.

We will kick off the Bike to Brunch promotion at the new Webster Street Cafe just 2 doors away from the start/finish.  At approximately 12:30 we will enjoy a Biker's Brunch Buffet  - only $10.00 with pasta, salad and veggies (and something for the meat eaters).  Bikes and dogs will be accommodated either in the back room of the restaurant (expensive bikes) where we will be served or in Kathy's back yard (the dogs).
