Suzy Schnauzer's Ride

This will be a tour of animal shelters focusing on Chicago Canine Rescue at 5272 N. Elston where Suzy was found.  It is also in honor of Doc, the dog who was in the news recently when his owner beat him to death with his own fists.  

People who ride with dogs or just love to watch dogs riding are invited to participate.  As with all of Kathy's rides, helmets are highly recommended for the humans and optional for the dogs.  You can even borrow one for yourself at the start.

Our leader Kathy Schubert will donate $5 to Chicago Canine Rescue for every helmeted rider who rides with us.  You are invited to donate as well.

Dog-friendly outdoor restaurants are hard to find at the point we will be hungry, so pack a lunch or plan to buy something at the brand new Mariano's two blocks north of the shelter.  There is a Forest Preserve just beyond the shelter and there may be a fruit seller before we get there.   Play it safe - bring cash and/or food.  Or plan on not eating until at least 2PM

Feel free to join us for any small part of the ride or for everything from the snout to the tail end.  

Ride will be 21 miles at 10 to 14 mph pace
