Wish I could be there (regarding Rogers Park routes), but this conflicts with another meeting. I hope that some of the friends I referred to you will be able to offer plenty of good ideas.
Thanks, Duppie, there are space/parking/bus issues that will have to be dealt with, but the S4C design team doesn't really want us to try to work those details out. They really just want the community to advise where we'd really love to see new or upgraded bike lanes, based on reaching many destinations and/or overcoming many barriers (rivers, highways). They will put in protected bike lanes whenever feasible, followed by buffered bike lanes, then conventional bike lanes and shared lanes. Having said all that: PBLs can be put in even when there are bus routes present. Also, parking is a consideration, but it can be relocated or removed.
Michelle,
Can you publish the criteria for potential protected bike lanes (bus-no bus, parking, etc.) beforehand?
It speeds up the selection process
