Important information regarding tomorrow's ride.

We will be departing from The Spoke and Bird (205 E. 18th Street) at 8:00am tomorrow. They are open at 7am in case anyone wants to arrive early to use the restrooms or get coffee or anything, just be mindful we need to leave at 8:00am

Be aware of the Lakefront Trail Separation Construction Project (http://www.chicagoparkdistrict.com/assets/1/7/Lakefront_Trail_Detou...) and the Chicago Spring Half Marathon (http://1fsawj22yir9otqyf1vuai46.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/...) taking place tomorrow.

I would avoid the lakefront all together to reach The Spoke & Bird on time. We will be avoiding the south portion of the lakefront trail during this tour pedaling through Bronzville, Hyde Park then cutting over to the Lakefront Trail near the Museum of Science and Industry to reach our first rest stop at the South Shore Cultural Center before making our way to the Steelworkers Park.

Bring cash for Calumet Fishery to avoid a ATM Fee, they only accept cash.

Bring sunscreen, an extra inner tube if you have one, bike lock, helmet, hydration, and snacks.

The weather looks like it will be very enjoyable, looking forward to seeing everyone.

Here is an article of one of the interesting historical sites we will visit this Saturday. Looks like our friend Rod Sellers from the Southeast Chicago Historical Society contributed some of the photos in the article. I have made arrangements for us to gain access to the metal scrapyard where it's located under lock and key!
