Yes, I am aware of the limit, thanks.

Confrimed: 4 people will be departing on Metra to Joliet. 6 more will be taking Amtrak to Mendota and riding from there.

Others are likely but not yet confirmed.

There is a limit to the number of bikes you can put on a Metra train. How many people are going?

I'm not sure what your you're taking, but if you're considering the I&M Canal trail be aware that part of the trail is closed between Ottawa and Utica.

Going west, the sign is up just past the last campground on the trail (Camp D) and closed for a mile or two. You'll see a path and might think you can pass it easily. You can't, I just rode it today.

There are two streams crossed by tree limbs with wooden clamps attached. You can walk bike across - on at a time. The last obstacle is a stream, about 15 foot down and with several rocks to walk across. You can drag the bike - the stream is only about 6" deep and moving slowly. The path up and down, however, is strenuous.

Consider getting off the trail at Buffalo Rock and taking Dee Bennet Road to Utica and Starved Rock.

Or consider camping along the trail. That campground, Camp D, is very nice for group camping, has an overhang in case of rain and has a fireplace built into the camp oversight. It's right before where the trail is marked closed, travelling west.
