Description

Whether you are a beginning or experienced cyclist, or are returning to cycling after years away from it, you will find something useful for you in the Smart Cycling Traffic Skills 101 course. The 8 hour Traffic Skills 101 course covers bicycle safety checks, fixing flats, basic maintenance, essential on-bike handling skills, traffic cycling skills, and crash avoidance techniques. A student manual is included.

There are two sessions.

A 4 hour classroom session covers: Finding the Right Bike and Setting It Up to Fit, Basic Maintenance,
Traffic Rules and Riding Safety in Traffic.

A 4 hour on-bike session covers: Essential Bike Handling Skills, Emergency Maneuvers,
Supervised Traffic Cycling Practice on Local Roads.

Successful completion of both sessions earns a Certificate of Completion for the League of American Bicyclists Traffic Skills 101 Course. This course is a prerequisite to several other League of American Bicyclists courses, including the League Cycling Instructor Program.

You must pre-register and you will be sent pre-course material.
