No, this isn't about being entirely ready to have God remove all defects of character.
It's about riding to Three Floyds and boosting our cognitive function every month this year! Now there's a consistent schedule -- the 4th Saturday of every month -- others have opportunities to lead (I can't make it every time), and you can qualify for the F-12 Award.
The ride takes the lakefront trail south from the Clock Tower. You can join up anywhere along the trail. Just let the group know where so they can look for you.
42 miles total if you ride to Hammond and take the South Shore Line, 45 if you ride to Flossmoor Station and take the Metra, 50 if you ride to 93rd and take the Metra or to 100th and take the J14, 55 if you ride to 71st and take the J14, 70 if you ride both ways. 16-20 mph. I like to get there before they open at 11:00 (it's still the fourth-best brewery in the world, so sometimes there's a line). Bring money, government-issued ID, a lock, water and snacks to have en route, and panniers for beer you can't get in Chicago.
Online resources: Google map, cue sheet, South Shore Line Bikes on Trains schedule, Flossmoor Metra Electric train schedule, 93rd St Metra train schedule, Jeffrey Jump (J14) bus schedule, South Shore Line FAQ, Metra policy, CTA guide, and, to save a minute at the start, the nifty online CCC waiver.

some last-minute route-planning, may be 5-10 min late
new since last time:
A crimson IPA brewed with a mighty blend of European and American hops and a hint of Icelandic sea salt. Brewed with our friends in the band At The Gates.
In celebration of our 20th year. We bring to you the original Alpha King recipe.
plus guest drafts:
A Czech/American Pilsner
A new headliner is coming to town, and it goes by the name HEAVY MELON. With a splash of fresh watermelon and a touch of lime, this beer will have you screaming for an encore.
A tart saison barrel-aged for two months on hand-pitted California angelino plums. Over ten pounds per barrel were used lending a deep plum color with intriguing plum and tart citrus notes in the aroma and flavor.
Big Iron is a huge malt forward English-Style Barleywine with layers of sweet raisin and rich carmel.
plus 18th Street on the way back!
sunny and warm, tailwind home:
