No, this isn't about humbly asking Him to remove our shortcomings.
It's about trying to ride to Three Floyds every month this year. Now there's a consistent schedule -- the 4th Saturday of every month -- others have opportunities to lead (I can't make it every time), and you can qualify for the F-12 Award.
The ride takes the lakefront trail south from the Clock Tower. You can join up anywhere along the trail. Just let the group know where so they can look for you.
45 miles total if you ride to Flossmoor Station and take the Metra, 50 if you ride to 93rd and take the Metra or to 100th and take the J14, 55 if you ride to 71st and take the J14, 70 if you ride both ways. 17-20 mph. I like to get there before they open at 11:00 (it's the fourth-best brewery in the world, so sometimes there's a line). Bring money, government-issued ID, a lock, water and snacks to have en route, and panniers for beer you can't get in Chicago.
Online resources: Google map, cue sheet, Flossmoor Metra train schedule, 93rd St Metra train schedule, Jeffrey Jump (J14) bus schedule, Metra policy, CTA guide, and, to save a minute at the start, the nifty online CCC waiver.

thanks, everyone, for coming, i had a fun day
great, see you soon
I'll be at the clock tower at 8.
great, likewise!
hard to say, 2.5 hrs there + 2.5 hrs to get back would be 4:00?
and i don't mind the barriers, it's like a protected bike lane!
Hey, what time do you guys make it back to chicago with the new schedule? I was thinking of going to the wicker park fest that day.\
Oh yeah, how was sheffield for you? I saw the northbound barriers where still up?
warm, headwind going down, possibly rain coming back:
Saturday 07/25 30% Some clouds and possibly an isolated thunderstorm in the afternoon. High around 85F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%. |
new since last time:
A cherry Gose made with lactobacillus, Michigan cherries, coriander, and sea salt.
Sparkly brightness for your eyes and snappy crispiness for your mouth! Dip your tongue in the fantasy of rainbows! A lager true to the Mexican/Bohemian brewing tradition. Too much sanity may be madness!!!
